The Finke Estate preserves, researches, and opens Dieter Finke's archive. It connects works, documents, and reconstruction notes so the practice can be read as a living field.
Oil crayon on sailcloth, 1976, with three dense vertical zones of dark marks alternating with pale columns of light across a single panoramic panel. Reproduced the following year in the NBK's catalogue, Berliner Künstler der Gegenwart, alongside Schauer's essay on Finke's crayon drawings, which reads this rhythm as space staged and withheld. Finke scaled the same structure to six metres months later for the Berlin Now diptych in New York.
